Induction of Gerry Gasser into the Conestoga Hall of Fame

Gerry Gasser (T-E High School 1953)

 

Gerry was a 3-sport athlete at T-E High School. He lettered in football, basketball and baseball. Upon graduating from Springfield College, Gerry returned to teach Health and Physical Education and coach both basketball and baseball. In 1977 the Conestoga basketball team became the first Conestoga team to win the Central League Championship and the PIAA, District 1 Championship. Gerry was named Boys Basketball Coach of the Year for both the 1975-1976 and 1976-1977 seasons. From 1976 until his retirement in 1997, Gerry was the CHS Director of Athletics. During that time, the Pioneers won 93 Central League Championships, eleven District 1 Championships and made six appearances in the PIAA State Finals. For his dedication and contributions to high school athletics, Gerry Gasser was named, in 1996, Regional Athletic Director by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Directors Association.
