John J. Fitzgerald ‘Jack’ of Phoenixville, formerly of Wayne

John J. Fitzgerald “Jack,” of Wayne, a retired service station owner, died Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at home.

Growing up on the Main Line, “Fitzy” managed many service stations. He graduated from Tredyffrin-Easttown High School in Berwyn. He enjoyed the beach and riding the bus to the Atlantic City casinos with his family and many friends.

He was the son of Mary Connors and James Fitzgerald; loving husband of 49 years to Roberta (Woodson) Fitzgerald; beloved father of Debbie, Scott (Denise), Kathy (John), Jack Jr. (Krissy), Kelly and Meghan (Brian); grandfather of nice grandchildren; uncle to many nieces and nephews; and brother to Ann Cox.

He was preceded in death by a son, Brian; and a brother, Jimmy Fitzgerald.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church of Port Kennedy, 1084 Old Valley Forge Road, King of Prussia, PA 19406.

Prior to services, family will be receiving guests from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations in Jack’s memory made to Fox Chase Cancer Center, 333 Cottman Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19111.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by Auer Cremation Services of Pennsylvania Inc., Harrisburg.
