Malikowski, Edward (faculty) 1342 Glen Echo Road West Chester, PA 19380 610-430-1522 Wife Genevieve Children Michael (born 1952) Linda (born 1954) Susan (born 1958) John (born 1961) Ellen (born 1965) Ed was our general science teacher in ninth grade and the high school basketball coach when we were in tenth grade at TE High School. At that time he was Mr. Malikowsi to us. Ed graduated from Kingston High School, which is near Wilkes-Barre, in 1945. He was in the US Navy for two years and then enrolled at West Chester State Teacher’s College in 1947. In 1951 he graduated with a B.S. in health and physical education with a minor in general science. That fall he started teaching at TE Junior High, but he did not teach our class until 1953. While at TE Junior High, he coached the high school basketball team for four years. In the fall of 1956 he left our school district and took a job at West Chester High School where he was an assistant basketball coach of championship teams and the head coach of cross country and track. He earned a M.S. in Health Education in 1964 at West Chester University. From 1967 until 1972 he was the athletic director and from 1972 until his retirement in 1985 he was the supervisor of health, physical education and athletics. Immediately following retirement Ed went to work for Philip H. Bradley Company Antique Furniture. He worked full time until 1994, and then gradually reduced his time there until now he works only once in a while. He likes wood working and making reproduction antique furniture. He remains active by playing tennis and maintaining his home and garden. Ed married Genevieve in 1951. They have seven grandchildren. |

The wife of Ed Malikowski died January 26, 2008. Ed was the ninth grade general science teacher at TE Junior High School and the high school basketball coach in the early 1950s.
